Homeopathy
for Stress, Anxiety and Depression

The theory of homeopathy was developed by a man named Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843). It was derived from the Greek words homoios (which means similar) and pathos (which means suffering).

This method of therapy is based on principles such as:

  • Like Cures Like - This is based on the idea that the same substance that can cause symptoms of a particular disease in a healthy person can also cure the symptoms in a sick person with that particular disease.
  • Extreme Dilution - Plant extracts (believe it or not, including poisonous ones) are approximately 99% diluted with water and/or alcohol. Doses are so small that they are safe and most effective in these tiny doses.

Although there are many different homeopathic remedies to choose from, there are some that are specifically used to help with stress, anxiety and depression.

Homeopathy for Anxiety

The following remedies may be useful in treating symptoms of anxiety.

  • Aconite
  • Argentum nitricum
  • Arsenicum album
  • Calcarea carbonica
  • Gelsemium
  • Ignatia amara
  • Kali phosphoricum
  • Lycopodium
  • Natrum muriaticum
  • Phosphorus
  • Pulsatilla
  • Silicea

Homeopathy for Depression

The following remedies may be useful in treating symptoms of depression.

  • Arsenicum album
  • Aurum metallicum
  • Calcarea carbonica
  • Causticum
  • Cimicifuga
  • Ignatia amara
  • Kali phosphoricum
  • Natrum carbonicum
  • Natrum muriaticum
  • Pulsatilla
  • Sepia
  • Staphysagria

It is important to note that homeopathic medicine treats the symptoms, not the disease itself.
