Another well know book is Woodworking Basics - Mastering the Essentials of Craftsmanship - An Integrated Approach With Hand and Power tools  by Peter Korn is said to be "the perfect 101 for beginners".

By taking your focus off your problems and investing time and energy into something like woodworking, you are working towards balancing a healthy mind and a healthy lifestyle. Hobbies such as this demand attention and allow us to be creative while building woodworking skills. It is also more productive to invest in something of interest than to spend your time worrying, anxious or depressed.
