Scary Symptoms

by Maxy140

Hi There, first of all thank-you for this site. It helps so much to know how many other people are going through similar things and that I am not alone or CRAZY. Like you I have suffered with anxiety for most of my life. Over the last 6 months I have felt like I have had some sort of breakdown. The anxiety was at its worst. I think I have had every symptom you have mentioned but more. I started having Intrusive Thoughts. This was probably the hardest to deal with. I seriously felt horrified that bad thoughts could just come into my mind. I think if you also add this to your list it would help others to realize that they are not crazy and it is just part of anxiety. Thanks Again

Hello Maxy140,

Thank you so much for your email. I would also agree that intrustive, obsessive thoughts were one of the hardest symptoms to deal with when suffering with an anxiety disorder.

I am happy to tell you that there is a section where I talk about intrusive, obsessive thoughts. It is here that I share what I have found to be most helpful in helping me overcome it. You will find this page here: Obsessive Thinking:Ending Scary Thoughts

Thank you for the suggestion on adding this symptom to the scary anxiety symptoms list. I don't know why I didn't but I'm glad you caught that. It is through the help and suggestions of others that I am able improve this website and make it more user friendly. Thanks so much! Be sure to look for updates to that page real soon!

Take Care!
~Susan
